Annie clip

One of the fun things my new cell phone does is let me take short video clips and put them on the computer. Here's a Quicktime clip of Annie fetching her rubber chicken at our house (approx 0.5 MB).

A walk in the park

Sunday we went for a walk on the Loblolly trail in Umstead state park. It's on Harrison Ave, exit 287 from I-40, if you're in the area. I say walk instead of hike since there aren't any mountains. It's mostly flat, with a few hills and some bridges across creeks. That said, it was a great day to be out. The weather was very pleasant, and the bugs haven't become awful yet. We also took Annie with us, and she turned out to really like the trip. Annie loved the creeks, she'd trounce around in the shallow water, sometimes nearly pulling Erika or me along with her at the other end of the leash. I'd almost wanted to try to let her walk freely, but they had signs posted to keep dogs on a leash-sorry Annie. Also, we're not really sure how she'll handle that. Annie doesn't seem to quite understand the importance of watching for cars on the road yet. We took several pictures along the trail of flowers, trees, and Annie in the creek. Go check them out.

Library books...

So I made the mistake of leaving Annie alone downstairs for about 20 minutes tonight. When I came back, I saw Annie had chewed the covers partially off two library books Erika had checked out. This is a problem. So I look online to see how much it might cost to replace them. The first one I checked was about $270. This is expensive, I didn't want to check the second one. Then I think, maybe the library can just replace the cover, since the rest of the books are in good condition. I call them up, and they say they'd have to appraise the damage, and if that's all it needs, they'd charge about $35 each to re-cover them. I'll take the book in tomorrow to find out. Cross your fingers for me. I suppose I should be happy with my anger management, I put Annie in her pen for the night without so much as yelling. Oh well.

Green Fuzz

Annie decided to redecorate her crate a bit today. I think she lost her chew toys and got bored. Take a look at the green fuzz from her mattress.
